Young generation must be aware about ancestors’ sacrifices: Habib

Two-day ‘Independence Day’ exhibition concludes at NCA

LAHORE: The National College of Arts (NCA) organized two-day ‘Independence Day Exhibition’ in connection with independence celebrations to highlight the struggle of ancestors for independence at its Zahoor ul Gallary here on Wednesday.

The core theme to devise this exhibition was to aware the young generation about the sacrifices and undefeated struggles made by their elders in order to achieve the Pakistan.

The Chairman Planning & Development Board, Punjab Habib-ur-Rehman Gillani participated as chief guest in the exhibition while Principal NCA Prof Dr Murtaza Jafri, factuality members and a large number of students were also present. He inaugurated the two-day ‘Independence Day Exhibition 2019’ along with NCA principal after cutting the ribbon.

He also visited the gallery where five altarpieces about Independence Day were displayed and he was briefed by the Principal.

Moreover, it is pertinent to mention that all these art pieces executed by the students of yearly diploma holder in Traditional Arts. The students were divided into groups, had worked on these pieces, devising the sizes and images under guidance of their tutors, so that their ideas were brought into existence in the most effective ways.

The freedom struggle resulting in the partition of South Asia is increasingly becoming a point of interest for the artist community. The current situation in Kashmir highlights the struggle for freedom illustrated in the art works of these talented artists.

Speaking the occasion, Chairman congratulated the students of NCA for organizing a beautiful exhibition and also thanked the Principal NCA for giving honoured. He said that 14 august a day of independence is a great blessing and precious gift for every Pakistani.  He lauded the artwork displayed in connection with the Independence Day celebrations.

Addressing the ceremony, Principal NCA Prof Dr Murtaza Jafri appreciated the students and factuality for organizing independence exhibition. He highlighted the freedom struggles and sacrifices made by their forefathers to achieve this propitious country and also expressed extreme value of liberty being independent country.

“It’s our moral duty to provide knowledge the youth about the history of the independence, so that our forthcoming generation remained remembered always all those sacrifices and bravery of soldiers,” he added. Mr Jaffri said NCA hold different activities every year with a great zeal in connection with Independence Day celebrations.

While talking to Daily The Business Kamran Saqi a senior Journalist and anchor person said that the young generation must be aware of the fact that independence was a great blessing of Almighty Allah and its value could only be determined by a person who was deprived of it.

“This auspicious country was come into existence after a decades-long struggle and innumerable sacrifices. Pakistan is a greatest gift for us from Alimighty Allah. Every Pakistani living in this country should play his or her individual role in its progress and prosperity,” he added.

“The main objective behind organizing this exhibition regarding Independence Day in a befitting manner was to give youth an insight about the greatness of the country, sacrifices offered for its creation and benefits of independence,” Saqi said.
