Shafqat lays foundation stone of 3.2km road from Arfa Tower to Peco road

LAHORE: The Federal Minister for Education, Shafqat Mahmood laid the foundation stone of 3.2km road from Arfa Tower to link Peco road alongside Kot Lakhpat main drain which had neglected for a decade by the previous government.

In this regard, an inaugural ceremony was jointly organized by PTI General Secretary Rana Shehryar Khan and Mithaas Khan a local representative. The ceremony was attended by Muhammad Iqbal Butt, Dr Akram Durani, Abdul Karim Kalwar, and a large number of PTI supporters and representatives besides the people of all walks of life.

While speaking at the ceremony, Federal Minister said that the road will be completed in two phases.  He said that this is not only one project but more project will also be started in the area after every six months. Federal Minister announced that a pure drinking water plant would also be provided in the area soon. He maintained that Almighty Allah has given him a great opportunity to serve humanity, if he will able to do that then it would be a pleasure for him. Shafqat said that some new project would also be begun in his constituency.

He also quoted that “when he visited the Mithaas’s residence some years ago in previous government tenure when his personal car had struck in the mud, he promised with him that a new road will be made when his party will come into power.”

Moreover, he reiterated that this road will be completed in two phases. In the first phase, only 1.2km road will be furnished with the worth of Rs 35million while in the second phase the remaining road would be completed soon. He also met with area people and listen to their problems and ensued them for early address the issues.

Speaking at the occasion, PTI General Secretary Rana Shehryar thanked the Federal Minister for taking this initiative of welfare in his constituency. He expressed that this road is on walking distance from the former CM Punjab residence but he didn’t harken the basic issues of the area. He highlighted that PTI’s government will no stone leave to unturned for resolving the grass root levels issues of UC-226, 224, 223 and 230 particularly the pure drinking water and other burning issues of the area. He also thanked the local representatives of PTI from Bahar Colony, Liqiatabad others. Abdul Kareem Kalwar, Mithaas Khan and others also spoke at the occasion.
