LAHORE: The Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122) reported approximately 810 road traffic accidents that occurred across the province of the Punjab on Tuesday.
At least seven people were killed while 555 were gravely injured in the accidents. The injured were shifted to various hospitals, while 351 victims, who sustained minor injuries, were discharged after being administered first aid by emergency medical teams.
The data showed that 408 drivers, 20 underage drivers, 119 pedestrians and 386 passengers were among the victims of these road traffic crashes.
The statistics showed that 234 RTCs were reported in Lahore Control Room, which affected 232 persons placing the Provincial Capital at top of the list followed by 76 in Faisalabad with 95 victims and Multan at third position with 54 RTCs and 54 victims.
The data further showed that total 913 victims were affected by road traffic crashes including 734 males & 179 females, while age group of the victims show that 142 were under 18 year of age, 542 were between 18 and 40 years and rest of the 229 victims were reported above 40 years of age.
According to the data, 651 motorbikes, 127 auto rickshaws, 71 motorcars, 30 vans, 18 passenger buses, 29 trucks and 89 other types of auto vehicles and slow moving carts were involved in aforesaid road traffic accidents.
