LAHORE: The Government of Punjab extended the contract of Dr Rizwan Naseer as Director General (BS-20) Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122) for the period of one year from October 16, 2019, to October 15, 2020, read the notification. The Services and General Administration Department (S&GAD) of Punjab issued a notification here on Monday.
The decision was made in the meeting of Punjab Emergency Council (PEC), headed by the Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar keeping in view his performance for the development of emergency services in Punjab and training other provinces of Pakistan, said the press release.
The Spokesperson of Rescue 1122 Punjab said that Dr Rizwan warmly welcomed by the senior officers and officials of Rescue 1122 Headquarters & Emergency Services Academy, adding that they also presented bouquets to the DG Rescue Punjab on the issuance of notification over his extension.
The spokesperson further said that Dr Rizwan Naseer is the Founder of Pakistan’s first Modern Emergency Humanitarian Service (Rescue 1122), was established in 2004 as a pilot project from Lahore.
The spokesperson emphasized that due to the Founder DG persistent efforts Rescue Team of Pakistan became the first team to get United Nations International Search and Rescue (UN- INSARAG) Certification which is the highest forum of Search and Rescue at the international level.
While expressing about the mission of safer Pakistan, Dr Rizwan said that Rescue Service would be established in all remaining Tehsils of Punjab. He said that the Emergency Management System would also be strengthened through pragmatic involvement of Rescue Scouts in order to develop disaster sensitized community.
“His mission is to establish safer communities in Pakistan with trained & enthusiastic human resources and achieve excellence through professionalism,” Naseer added.
