PM asks people to join Kashmir Hour today, send messages

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Thursday called on all Pakistanis to take part in ‘Kashmir Hour’, being observed today (Friday) at 12pm, to send a strong message of solidarity to Kashmiris.
“I want all Pakistanis to come out tomorrow 12 noon-12.30pm to show solidarity with the Kashmiri people and send the Kashmiris in Indian-occupied Kashmir a clear message that the entire Pakistani nation stands in solidarity with them and against Indian fascist oppression, the inhumane 24-day curfew, the daily injuring and killing of Kashmiri civilians, including women & children — all part of the ethnic cleansing agenda of the Modi government and its illegal annexation of IoK,” said the premier via Twitter. “The plan to change demography of IoK is a war crime under 4th Geneva Convention.
“We must send a strong message to Kashmiris that our nation stands resolutely behind them. So I am asking all Pakistanis for half an hour tomorrow, stop whatever you are doing and come out on the road to show solidarity with the Kashmiri people,” he urged. The clampdown is now on its 25th day. While addressing the nation on occupied Kashmir on Monday, Prime Minister Imran had announced that an event will be held every week to show solidarity with the Kashmiri people, starting with today (Friday) between 12pm-12:30pm.
Nation to come out to show solidarity with Kashmiris today: Firdous
Special Advisor to Prime Minister for information and broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan has said that today (Friday) entire nation under the leadership of PM Imran Khan will come out of their houses to express solidarity with the people of Indian Occupied Kashmir.
In her message on social networking site twitter, Firdous Ashiq Awan said, “Solidarity with Kashmiris will begin with the national songs of Kashmir and Pakistan”. She said Prime Minister Imran khan while expressing solidarity with innocent Kashmiris will convey sentiments of the entire nation to the world. She said, extremist Modhi is undermining the peace of world. India by spreading contamination of hate, oppression and injustice wants to destroy the environment of human life and survival. Brutality and oppression in the )ccupied Kashmir is an addition of unfortunate chapter in human history.
Whole country will hold protest,
express solidarity with Kashmiris
Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said whole country will hold protest tomorrow against the unilateral steps taken by India in Occupied Kashmir and to express solidarity with their Kashmiri brethren.
He was giving a briefing during a meeting of Parliamentary Committee on Kashmir chaired by Fakhar Imam in Islamabad Thursday.
The Minister said protest will be held each Friday on 12 pm across Pakistan on the suggestion of the parliament.
He said two of the three parties on Kashmir have out rightly rejected the unilateral Indian steps in Occupied Kashmir.
He said even in India there are clear gulfs on these steps. Shah Mehmood Qureshi said Indian opposition parties were not allowed to witness the situation in Occupied Kashmir and were forcibly sent back to Delhi from Srinagar Airport.
Appreciating the joint session of the parliament and a unanimous resolution on Kashmir, the Foreign Minister said it showed all parties across the spectrum are united in opposing the illegal steps of India.
Referring to diplomatic efforts to internationalize the Kashmir situation, the Foreign Minister said he wrote letters on First, Sixth and then 13th of this month to the United Nations to apprise the world body of the aggravating human rights situation in the held territory.
He said discussion on Kashmir at the UN Security Council was a great achievement of Pakistan which was held despite India’s hectic efforts to stop it.
He said large protest demonstrations were held in the US, UK, Paris, Berlin and many other European capitals. He said a large demonstration will be held in London on third of next month to draw world attention towards the plight of innocent Kashmiris.
He said services of world’s best lawyers are being sought to devise a course of action that could strengthen our case in ICJ. =DNA
