LAHORE: The Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) Lahore will start new plantation drive for planting over two lakh trees during monsoon in its seven zone of the Provincial Capital.
PHA spokeswoman Nadia Tufail told Daily The Business that new drive will be launched after few days in the city areas under the prime minister’s Clean and Green Pakistan initiative.
She added that all arrangements for monsoon plantation activities have been completed in this regard.
The decision was taken at a meeting, which was chaired by Additional Director General, Muhammad Asghar Joiya held at PHA Head Office here on Friday,
In this regard the places for plantation have also been chosen in all seven zones of the city, she said.
Ms Tufail said that all government, semi-government organizations, universities, colleges, schools, private organizations and the citizen will also participate in this tree plantation drive.
She expressed that mostly fruit and cineraria trees will be planted during plantation drive.
