LWMC mounted more than 300 new waste bins in the city

LAHORE: In order to enhance cleanliness condition in the city on the special directions of MD LWMC Mr.Khalid Nazir more than 300 new waste containers have been placed in the city. These waste containers have been placed at Sanda Road, Gulshan Ravi, Choburgi, outfall road followed by other places in the city.  MD LWMC also directed the Turk contractors to repair and paint existing waste bins in the city so that citizens find it easy to dispose of their waste properly. MD LWMC was accompanied by GM Operations Mr. Sohail Malik and Head of Communication Mr. Jamil Khawar. MD LWMC stated that it is our prime responsibility to maintain cleanliness in the city. Later cleanliness awareness drive was also carried by the Communication department to sensitize locals on the importance of cleanliness in which social mobilizers went door to door and distributed awareness material and waste bags among the residents. On the occasion, Mr. Jamil Khawar said that department is working and providing extraordinary cleanliness services in the city whereas at the same time citizens of Lahore shoulder important responsibility to dispose of their waste properly in the bin. Mr. Sohail Malik also stated that without prompt cooperation of people LWMC solely cannot achieve the objective of clean Lahore, he also advised people to register their waste related complaint on 1139 or by using mobile-based application CLEAN LAHORE.
