LWMC Chand Raat zero waste operation concludes

LAHORE: On the special directions of Managing Director Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) Khalid Nazir LWMC carried out Zero Waste Operation in the city on Chand Raat.
In this exclusive cleanliness operation LWMC and Turk contractors deployed all possible resources i-e man power and machinery for smooth execution. 24 hour long zero waste operation included cleanliness of commercial markets, graveyards of the city, eidghahs, mosques, entry and exit points of the city, major and minor roads, open plots, surroundings of recreational areas, parks etc. resulting effective lifting of more than 7,000 tonsof solid waste from the city.
The whole operation was closely monitored by MD LWMC, GM Operation and other top officials.
MD LWMC stated that department is working exquisitely to provide clean environment to the citizens of Lahore on Eid ul Fitr.
MD LWMC added that without the prompt cooperation of public LWMC cannot maintain cleanliness in the city.
Lahore is home to more than 10 million people who are producing waste on daily basis.
Lahore Waste Management Company has been working tirelessly to cater waste and its proper and effective lifting. GM Operation Sohail Malik said that LWMC will continue its special cleanliness services on 3 days of Eid.
Spokesperson LWMC Jamil Khawar shared that citizens filing complaint regarding waste should use LWMC official helpline 1139 or mobile based application Clean Lahore.
