Lahore Waste Management Company conducts Anti-Dengue activity

LAHORE: LWMC has been on the forefront in fight against Dengue. Besides operational activities which include clearance of open plots, removal of heaps of waste, de silting and other day to day activities, an extensive awareness campaign was carried out at Larry Ada Square with an aim to inform and sensitize the citizens about taking preventive measures to fight Dengue and avoid littering especially during Monson season.

Activity was led by Chairman LWMC Mr.Riaz Hameed Chaudhary, Managing Director LWMC Muhammad Ajmal Bhatti. Local trader association President Malik Zaman Naseeb and his fellow colleagues in large number also took part in the activity. During the activity Chairman and MD LWMC followed by GM Operations Sohail Malik, Head of Communication Jamil Khawar and team of social mobilizers, trader association representatives distributed awareness literature among the public and conducted an awareness walk. On the occasion Chairman LWMC stated that conducting awareness raising activities is very important as without public positive role city with more than 10million people cannot be kept clean and department is following the vision and directions Chief Minister Punjab.
MD LWMC Muhmmad Ajmal Bhatti said that communication department of LWMC holds such awareness campaigns around the year to engage and mobilize people to play their important role in maintaining cleanliness. He added that awareness raising activities will reach public places, schools, colleges, communities, mohallas, offices and mosques so that maximum participation can be attained. President Azam Cloth Market association Malik Zaman Naseeb and President Pakistan trader alliance Lahore Nasir Hameed Khan acknowledged the efforts of LWMC in the city and stated that holding such awareness raising activities scan be very vital of both the department and public as it will create the sense of responsibility among the residents of Lahore. Spokesperson LWMC Jamil Khawar also briefed that department has stretched its arms to every nook and corner of the city to provide exception cleanliness services whereas people can dial 1139 for registering their waste related complaints and can also use LWMC Mobile based application Clean Lahore.
