IGP reviews working of Khidmat Marakaz, Khidmat Counters

LAHORE: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab, Capt. (retired) Arif Nawaz Khan said that community policing has been started in Punjab and in this regard important public service delivery projects are operational and their results are also being monitored.
Latest projects started for the delivery of police services and public service are delivering very encouraging results that many national and international organizations are doing research on these projects.
He further said that journey of community policing and public service delivery will continue and now this is expanding to the Tehsil level after successful working in big cities, so that people can benefit from these services without travelling much and with minimum difficulty.
He further said that Punjab Police is known of it performance and we don’t have any option other than delivering best results while performing our professional duties.
He expressed these views while addressing a high level meeting regarding Khidmat Marakaz.
In meeting Inspector General of Police Punjab reviewed working of Khidat Marakaz and Khidmat Counters established across Punjab and also establishing new Khidmat Centers. In meeting Inspector General of Police directed to make these Khidmat marakaz operational by 15th June ensuring provision of all necessary facilities.
Inspector General of Police Punjab also directed all CPOs and DPOs to identify the land for Khidmat Marakaz in their Tehsil by 12 June so that police services can be delivered to the public at Thesil level. He further said that already available land can be used for Khidmat Markaz but the site plan will be issued by CPO.
He further directed officers to start Police Khidmat Counters at THQ,s at earliest and for this purpose funds will be issued by CPO. IGP Punjab further said that considering public convenience and for the provision of police services Khidmat Marakaz should be established without any delay.
