A new leak reports that Rockstar has at the very least worked out the scope of what lies ahead withGrand Theft Auto 6. A rumor that is supposedly a leak about the in-development sequel appeared on Pastebin, and implied thatGrand Theft Auto 6will feature multiple major cities including series favorites like Vice City and Liberty City, with the former already rumored forGrand Theft Auto 6. The post has now been removed, but not beforeWCCFTechwas able to find it.

According to the leak,Grand Theft Auto 6will put the player on the journey to become a drug lord, starting off as a small time crook in Liberty City before moving up the ladder in a Vice City gang, eventually hopping back between the two cities with time lapses as the player character’s reputation grows. Between the two major cities will be stretches of highway and countryside as seen inGrand Theft Auto 5. On top of that,Grand Theft Auto 6 will also include the Strangers mechanic as seen inRed Dead Redemption 2.

This ambition will need some extra processing power. Due to the memory restrictions of the PS4, it simply isn’t possible on current generation systems – although this isn’t much of a surprise given that the PS5 and Xbox Scarlett are already on the way. Fans should therefore expectGrand Theft Auto 6on next generation platforms. The full leak can be read below.

GTA 6 is going to feature multiple big cities which players can travel across.

In the title which will make you a kind of a drug lord. You will start as a small time guy in Liberty City doing odd chores and small-time thefts and eventually work your way to Vice City where you will join a famous gang. You will be tasked to look after business in Liberty City until you are brought back to Vice City and soon become the drug lord.

Rockstar Games has an idea about when they want to release the game but the corporates want to analyze the sales of PS5 and the Xbox 2. This game cant come [out] for ps4 because of memory restrictions. We have 2 major cities along with a vast stretch of highways and Blaine County like countrysides in the middle of it all. There will also be some kind of timed era between the missions with flashbacks.

Certain shops will sell different types of items in different eras. RDR2 type stranger dialogues will be implemented.

There are big plans in online and with major content like newer towns. They are working closely with Microsoft and Sony on cloud gaming which will help them enable online to be a continuous process.

The reliability of this reported leak should of course be taken with a grain of salt. It does not come from a verified Rockstar source, and its sudden removal from Pastebin doesn’t necessarily suggest that it was taken down as a true leak. Nonetheless, such a move would be an interesting one from Rockstar, although for now it’s fair to say that the only finite detail about the project is that it’s going to be controversial – since that’s been true of everyGrand Theft Autogame so far.

There are some issues that Rockstar must bear in mind. As fantastic asRed Dead Redemption 2is, the sluggish nature of Rockstar’s combat and movement mechanics were all too apparent and will need to be addressed. More importantly, Rockstar will also want to fully embrace the modding and role-playing community that has keptGrand Theft Auto 5 at the top of Twitch and still selling incredibly well six years on from its initial launch. As long as those features are included, there’s every chanceGrand Theft Auto 6could be just as triumphant as its predecessor, whenever it sees release.
