Folk Signer Sain Zahoor paid visit to Lahore Art Council

LAHORE: Pakistani famous folk singer Sain Zahoor on Tuesday visited Lahore Arts Council and met with its Executive Director Alhamra Saman Rai for discussing mutual issues related to art and artists community.

At this occasion, Sain Zahoor said Alhamra is the best platform for the promotion of art and music a lot of great and beautiful memories are associated with Alhamra.

He said that the people of Lahore love folk music, adding that the audience of Alhamra was very lively whenever he performed and gained a lot of love from its audience. He also expressed best wishes for LAC and its newly appointed Executive Director.

speaking the occasion, Executive Director LAC says that there is no doubt that Sain Zahoor is a well-known singer, noteworthy reference and valuable asset of the Pakistani folk music industry.

She said that folk singer Sain Zahoor is one of the very few singers who has dedicated their entire life for the promotion of high-quality music.  Sain Zahoor’s through his music and songs had highlighted country values in the world.

His services in the field of music are truly commendable, Alhamra would continue to organized such events to invite him to perform in future, she said.

In the meanwhile, Ms Rai chaired a meeting, was held to form the selection for the 16th Young Artists Exhibition at LAC while Director of Arts and Culture Zulfiqar Ali Zulfi, Assistant Director Admin Syed Khuram Naveel, curator Alhamra Art Museum Hajra Mehmood Assistant Fine Arts and other officers were also present.

The selection was made of committee members in the meeting which comprised over artists include Dr Rahat Naveed Masood, Qudus Mirza and R. M. Naeem. This committee would select ten best artworks.

The selected best artists would be awarded cash prizes of Rs10,000 for each, along with shields and certificates of appreciation.
