ISLAMABAD: An accountability court on Monday extended physical remand of Naudero House caretaker Nadeem Bhutto for three days, in an ongoing inquiry pertaining to fake bank accounts case.
The accused was presented before the court of Judge Arshad Malik.
At the outset of the hearing, the NAB prosecutor said, though Nadeem Bhutto is an employee of the Naudero House, but utility connections are under his name.
“A person namely Yasir Soomro was responsible to provide money, who did not show up before the NAB despite being summoned”, he continued.
Investigation underway from the accused, need more time in this regard, NAB prosecutor pleaded the court.
The court was also told even the former president Asif Ali Zardari was unaware about the transfer of money in Nadeem’s account.
The counsel of Nadeem Bhutto in his argument before the court alleged that the bureau is trying to make his client an approver against Asif Zardari.
The court on the NAB’s request, extended Nadeem Bhutto’s remand for three more days.
Last month, a NAB team had conducted raid at Bhutto’s Naudero House and apprehended its caretaker Nadeem Bhutto in fake accounts case.
Sources claimed that Nadeem Bhutto was a close aide of Pakistan People’s Party Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari and was working as his front man.
