LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has said that the previous era of exhibitory development has become a thing of the past and a genuine work is being done for the durable development of the province. He said that past rulers exhausted the national kitty by following wrong policies but the present government has provided resources on priority basis for public welfare schemes despite the financial crunch. He said that a colossal Ramadan Package has been introduced to provide relief to the people in the month of Ramadan. During the previous tenure, pomp and show were exhibited in the name of Ramadan Bazaars. On the other side, the PTI government has saved Rs. 2 billion by doing away with the culture of ostentatious display of things. Various items of daily-use are available in Ramadan Bazaars at cheaper rates. I have visited Ramadan Bazaars and checked the prices and quality of items and also deputed the ministers for the monitoring of these bazaars, he added. The huge subsidy is meant for the people and its fruits will be transferred to them. He made it clear that the illegal increase in the rates of essential items will not be tolerated because the provision of relief to the common man is the agenda of the government. He expressed these views while talking to different delegations at his office.
VC Nishtar Medical College
Multan meets CM
Vice-Chancellor Nishtar Medical College Multan Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kamal Pasha called on Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar and presented him a cheque of Rs. 20 lakh for the dam fund. The staff of Nishtar Medical College has donated their one-day salary for the dam fund. The Chief Minister said that construction of the dam is utmost necessary for the future of Pakistan. PTI government has moved forward the construction of the dam for electricity generation and for the storage of water as it is a national obligation.
He said that credit for laying the foundation stone of the Mohmand Dam goes to Prime Minister Imran Khan and everyone should enthusiastically take part in the national cause of construction of the dam, he added.
Special Assistant to PM for Health calls on CM
Special Assistant to Prime Minister for Health Dr. Zafar Mirza called on Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar at his office here on Friday and discussed various matters including improvement in the health sector and continuation of immunization campaign with further zeal and effectiveness.
Talking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that the provision of better healthcare facilities to the people is the first priority and added that the government is working to transform the hospitals as exemplary institutions in the province. Speedy implementation of the roadmap is in progress to develop the health sector and to provide most modern medical facilities to the people.
The purpose of health sector reforms is to provide the best facilities to the people. All possible resources will be utilized to provide healthcare facilities to the common man, he added. He said that reforms are being introduced to synchronize the traditional healthcare system with the latest needs and requirements.
The ongoing health sector reforms programme will soon yield far-reaching effects and no dearth of resources will occur to provide better facilities because of the provision of the qualitative healthcare system in hospitals is the right of the patients. He said that fruits of funds allocated for the provision of latest medical facilities will be transferred to the people.
Every promise made with the people will be fulfilled and all have to work collectively for the success of the immunization campaign.
The line departments will also have to work proactively to save the children from infectious diseases, the Chief Minister concluded.
