ISLAMABAD: Andleeb Abbas, a senior leader of the ruling party, Monday said youth of modern era was significantly different from earlier generations, needed to be dealt with entirely new approach.
She while talking in Pakistan Television programme said being a teacher she believed in that it was needed to focus on raising confident and independent children as the modern children were equipped with enough technology, definitely more skilled in technical stuff but lack to stand in practical situations. Parents of this millennium should not impose their choices on young minds while opting a professional path, they should have a liberty to choose a career, she said.
“I am privileged to teach in the best private institutions but I have noticed that 99% of high fee institutions guarantee parents for high GPA only, no session of critical thinking and subject involvement in practical life is included,” she further said.
“All educational institutions should ensure to develop critical thinking in the young lot and cramming studies must be eradicated,” she suggested.
Even young intelligent students with the highest GPA could not cope with the pressure at workplace, they were compelled to earn money but were haunted by the behavior of their employers, she said. Many people told the difficulties faced by the youth after getting into practical life that they get scared after receiving dry and rude behavior from their high ups during the early days of their jobs, sometimes they even quit from workplace, she shared.
