Large quantity of seizures being regarded as exemplary

LAHORE: Customs Lahore Anti-Smuggling Organization has impounded over Rs 810 million illegally imported items and vehicles during the month of September.
As per details, under the leadership of Collectorate of Customs Enforcement and Compliance collector Basit Maqsood Abbasi the ASO impounded the non-customs paid goods and articles worth Rs 810 million.
The ASO team that has made such the huge total included Additional collector Mateen alam, Assitent Collector Ali Toqeer and inspectors Rao Mansoor Elahi, Abdul Hameed Bhatti, Asghar Purywal and other is being appreciated by the top officials of the Customs Department.
On the other hand, the seizures of over Rs 810 million’s contraband and non-customs paid items are being regarded as exemplary that
superseded all the past years and months.
The ASO has successfully foiled a number of bids of smuggling especially betel nuts, illegally imported cars, Iranian diesel, cigarettes, tyres, food items, forign orginated cloth, drugs zafran
pati, Indian gutka and other such items.
On the other hand, it has been said that the ASO team has lodgednumerous FIRs and arrested accused persons.
