LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar presided over a high-level meeting at Chief Minister’s Office in which wheat procurement campaign, supply and demand of sugar and its prices were discussed in details.
Chief Minister directed that the target of the wheat procurement campaign achieved at any cost and the farmers be given all out facilities during this process.
He said that farmers are getting full reward for their hard work.
The meeting decided to take necessary administrative measures to achieve the target of wheat procurement campaign.
He said that food department should effectively proceed with the campaign.
He said that administrative legal authority will be utilised to check unnecessary increase in the sugar price.
He directed immediate measures to ensure stability in sugar prices. He said that the concerning departments should take measures to control sugar prices.
Increase in the sugar prices without any reason and hoarding will not be tolerated at any cost, he added.
Provincial Minister for Industry Mian Aslam Iqbal, Minister Agriculture Malik Nauman Langrial, chief secretary, inspector general police, secretary industry, secretary agriculture, commissioner Lahore division, concerned authorities were present on the occasion while Provincial Minister for Food Samiullah Ch attended the meeting through video link.
Directs to monitor prices
of essential commodities in
open market as well
Buzdar has directed provincial administration for effective monitoring of prices of essential commodities in open market.
While passing instructions in this regard to price control committees and administration, CM said that there should be regular monitoring of prices not only in Ramdan bazaar but in open market as well to ensure availability of essential commodities at Govt notified rates.
He directed to opt effective measurements in order to bring sustainability in the rates and officers of concerned departments should focus on field visits for its implementation. He said that along-with quality, availability of items should also be ensured and that undue raise in rates will not be tolerable at any cost.
He also directed to take strict legal action against hoarders and price hikers and said that those involved in unfair profiting should be dealt with strict hands.
Administration and concerned departments should continue operation against those elements without any discrimination.
He said that Govt of Pakistan Teherak –e- Insaaf is fully conversant towards miseries of people and opting every needful step to provide them with relief. He said that it is the responsibility of administration to ensure availability of essential commodities at Govt. notified rates and also directed to start crackdown against the responsible of artificial inflators.
He said that effective measurements to be taken under price control mechanism as we can’t leave people unattended in the hand of this Maafia. In order to provide people with actual relief, we have to work hard and legal action should be taken against profiteers, he said.
Laments death of 4 persons due to trapping in electric wire
Buzdar expressed deep sense of sorrow and grief over the death of 04 persons of same family at Lodhran due to fall of electric wire. He extended his heartiest sympathies and condolence to the family and said that they are with the bereaved family in this hour of anguish.
CM also sought report from administration and directed to take strict legal action against the responsible of this fatal incident.
Lauds bravery, valor
of security forces
Buzdar has applauded the bravery and valor of security forces who have overpowered the plan of terrorists to attack Gawadar Hotel. He also prayed high tribute to the martyrs of this incident and commiserated with their bereaved families.
He prayed for those who got injured in the incident. CM said that security forces has flopped the nefarious plans of terrorists and whole nation pays Salam to the bravery of its martyrs.
He said that great sacrifices of martyrs to restore peace in region can’t be over-looked and our all sympathies are with the injured and bereaved families of martyrs.
