6 killed, 918 hurt in 832 accidents during last 24 hours

LAHORE: At least six people were killed while 918 sustained injuries in 832 road accidents in Punjab during the last 24 hours.
As many as 538 seriously injured persons were shifted to different hospitals, while 380 with minor injuries were treated on-the-spot by the rescue medical teams, said a spokesman for Rescue 1122 here on Sunday.
The analysis showed that 331 drivers, 20 juvenile drivers, 155 pedestrians and 438 passengers were among the victims of the crashes. The statistics showed that 219 accidents were reported in Lahore, which affected 218 persons placing the provincial capital at top of the list, followed by 87 in Faisalabad with 93 victims and Multan at third with 55 accidents and 54 victims.
As many as 667 motorcycles, 129 rickshaws, 73 cars, 42 vans, seven buses, 13 trucks and 109 other vehicles and slow-moving carts were involved in the accidents. —APP
