3,000 policemen to perform security duties on Eid

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Police have devised a comprehensive security plan for Eidul Fitr and 3,000 policemen would perform security duties during Eid days and guard religious gatherings at open places, mosques and Imambargahs.
As per the plan, police spokesperson said, special deployment will be made at 1,023 mosques, 33 Imambargahs and patrolling will be ensured in the various areas of the city.
The spokesperson said, special security arrangements have been made for Faisal Mosque while special police pickets would be erected around there.
The bomb disposal squad would conduct checking of various areas while parking will not be allowed near worship places or congregations.
Beat systems have been introduced for security at main shopping centers, markets and additional deployment of policemen would be ensured for security.
The contingents of mobile reserve police would be part of security measures at important shopping centers including Super Jinnah, Super market, F-7, F-10 and Aabpara markets.
Policemen have been assigned duties at bus stands, graveyards and railway stations along with metro stations. The policemen would patrol in the various sectors and contingents of Pakistan Rangers and police commandos will assist police in these security duties.
Special directives had been issued to Islamabad police to remain on high alert, fully prepared and vigilant to avert any untoward situation in the capital during Eid days. All wings of Islamabad Police will coordinate with each other.Special patrolling and vigilance plan has also been chalked out for the city following which CTF police commandos, Eagle and Falcon vehicles will remain on high alert to tackle any untoward incident. Police teams have been constituted for patrolling in various urban sectors and rural areas. Keeping in view the rush of visitors at public places, security measures have also been taken at Shakarparian, Daman-e- Koh, Yasmin Garden, Manal, Lake View Park, Chattar Park and Centauras. The mobile patrols and squads remained present at prominent points during Eid congregations.
The patrolling vehicles/eagles and the officials deployed at Masjid / Imambargahs and other places of worship will take notice of the beggars hovering around these places and shift them to concerned Police Station in patrolling vehicle.
As a part of security measures, police pickets have been erected at all important entry and exit points for checking of vehicles. Policemen would also patrol in the various sectors and police in charges of circles would ensure proper security during the Eid holidays in various locations.
DIG (Operations) Waqar Uddin Syed has directed all police officials to ensure objective patrolling and maintain high vigilance around worship places. He has also appealed the citizens to remain vigilant against suspicious elements and inform local police or Rescue 15 in case of observing any suspect around them.
Special security plan on Chand Raat
Islamabad police have prepared a special plan to ensure foolproof security of the city on Chand Raat as per the directives of Inspector General of Police Islamabad Muhammad Aamir Zulfiqar.
As per plan, 1700 police officials, 1000 personnel of Operations Division, 500 traffic policemen and 200 personnel of special branch will perform duties.
They will be deployed at various markets and business centres. The traffic police had been directed to ensure smooth flow of traffic.
The police will take strict action against the elements who will try to create law and order situation and against one wheeling.
The police will coordinate with the district administration to maintain law and order situation in the federal capital.
Over 1500 police men to perform
duty during Eid-Ul-Fitr
Police finalised its security plan as 1500 police men would perform duty during Eid-ul-Fitr in order to avoid any untoward incident across the district.
According to police sources, the City Police Officer (CPO) Imran Mahmood issued the security plan. As many as six SPs, nine DSPs, 25 Inspectors, 82 sub-inspectors, 155 assistant sub-inspectors, 1500 constables and 427 police Qaumi Razakars (PQRs) would be deployed on security duty.
A total of 940 eid prayer gatherings would be organized in the city out of which 128 have been declared sensitive.
However, five police reserves would remain alert at police line to deal any emergency like situation.
