LAHORE: The presence of of more than 2800 patients of HIV in Punjab’s five districts is an alarming situation, PML-N’s member Punjab assembly Hina pervaiz butt submitted adjournment motion in Punjab Assembly. The treatment of patients and to curb AIDS, discussion and important decisions to take emergent steps should be done in the assembly. On Wednesday, while submitting adjournment motion in the Punjab assembly, Hina Pervaiz Butt said that the diagnosis of more than 2800 patients of HIV in five districts of Punjab; Faisalabad, Chiniot, Sahiwal, Jhang and Nankana is extremely shocking to all of us. Punjab Aids Control Program has been restricting information to share with the media in order to save the failure of Punjab Government. PACP is showing mala fide intentions in this regard. Emergent steps should be taken to ensure the timely treatment of these patients to prevent the soread of this injurious disease. Debate should be conducted in the Punjab Assembly on this important issue. The silence of government on this issue justifies their incompetence. But we will make sure that they are exposed and basic health care is provided to every citizen of Pakistan. This is precisely because of the inefficiency of Punjab Government that the cases of Polio and AIDS have been appearing.
