Govt decides to register Rs 40,000 prize bonds

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has decided to register Rs 40,000 prize bonds, because the number of the people seeking amnesty scheme would be increased after registration of the Rs 40,000 prize bonds.
According to sources, more than 5,000 people have applied for the amnesty scheme to disclose their assets. It was also said that the strength of the people who want to seek amnesty scheme is rising day-by-day.
The FBR said it was decided to register Rs 40,000 prize bonds and the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) will issue a circular in this connection. The FBR also obtained the data of those people who uses expensive vehicles and travel abroad. The banks will also issue data of the people till June 30th, it was stressed.
It is said that the citizens can get their economic data from NADRA by paying Rs 500, whereas data of more than 40,000 people can be obtained online. The Chairman FBR Shabbar Zaidi had asked the other day that first of all we have to decide that from where we can get taxes. He had also said the we would go after the targets from where we are not getting taxes and to raise the strength of filers would be our real success.
