LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has said that strict monitoring of development projects will be done to ensure transparency and correct utilization of funds in the province.
In this regard, CMIT, ACE and other departments have been given the responsibility to monitor the development schemes and an effective monitoring mechanism has also been designed for the monitoring of different development projects including the DG Khan Development Package.
The CM has directed to implement the monitoring mechanism in letter and spirit adding that all the line departments should ensure transparency and monitoring process at every level.
Usman Buzdar also directed to keep him abreast of the progress on daily basis adding that no compromise will be made on the quality of construction work.
He said that high quality of public welfare schemes will also be ensured and added that correct utilization of public funds can be ensured by maintaining high quality of the development schemes. I am the custodian of the public resources and no one will be allowed to waste the resources in the province.
I will keep an eye on the monitoring mechanism and any delay or leniency will not be tolerated in the development schemes.
The CMIT, ACE and other line departments should also ensure strict monitoring of the process to complete the schemes well in time, he added.
New system of issuing ownership deeds through banks: A new system is being introduced to issue ownership deeds of lands through commercial banks in the province. In this regard, a high-level meeting was held in the CM Office with Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar in the chair on Tuesday.
Addressing the meeting, the Chief Minister said that separate counters will be established in the banks to issue ownership deeds and this step will further facilitate the people to get ownership deeds of their lands. Punjab government has also decided to start online issuing of ownership deeds and this system will be activated from July first. He directed that the system of depositing revenue dues at every land record center should be introduced and added that the project of extending the scope of land record centers should be completed as soon as possible.
Land record centers should be established in government buildings on permanent basis, he added. He said that immediate disposal of public complaints relating to revenue matters is essential as any delay in public welfare project is painful because I cannot remain happy over the pain and misery of the people. He said that enforcement of land utilization policy should be ensured after its early approval and the settlement process should be completed as soon as possible in DG Khan Division. He said that a transparent system of promoting farming will be introduced by giving state land on lease.
The Chief Minister made it clear that public complaints about corruption of revenue staff are not tolerable and added that helpline/ call center should be further activated to overcome the corruption in revenue department.
Minister for Revenue Malik Muhammad Anwar, Chairman P&D, SMBR, secretaries of C&W and finance departments, DG Punjab Land Record Authority and others attended the meeting.
