LAHORE: Provincial Minister for Health Dr. Yasmin Rashid has inaugurated state-of-the-art Paediatric Unit II at Lahore General Hospital (LGH) on Sunday.
Principal Prof. Dr. Muhammad Tayyab, Medical Superintendent Dr. Mehmood Salah-ud-Din, doctors and other faculty members were also present on this occasion. The Minister also inaugurated 15 private rooms ward. She inspected different wards of the hospital including urology department and inquired after the patients.
Dr. Yasmin Rashid while talking with the media-men said that in order to facilitate the patients and provided them better health care facilities, more than 150 beds have been increased in gynea, paediatric ward and labour room in General Hospital. She also appreciated the efforts of Principal Prof. Dr. Muhammad Tayyab and MS Dr Mehmood Salah-ud-Din for establishing Paediatric Unit II.
She said that Sahiwal DHQ teaching hospital is now attached with Children Hospital Lahore. Serious cases of Sahiwal DHQ Teaching Hospital will now be referred to children Hospital Lahore. She further maintained that we all have to play our due role for making anti-polio campaign successful. She further stated that media and ulemah can play vital role in the success of anti polio campaign.
She said that former corrupt government ruined the public sector hospitals and did nothing except lip service. Prime Minister Imran Khan will fulfil all his promises made with the people. She further disclosed that Rs.2000 will be charged from paying patients of private room in general hospital. Process of revamping of government hospitals is being speedily completed under Prime Minister Health Initiatives. ITI Act will further facilitate the patients.
CM expresses grief over the loss of lives in accident: Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has expressed a deep sense of sorrow and grief over the loss of precious human lives in an accident on motorway near Hafizabad. He expressed heartfelt sympathies with the bereaved heirs. He directed the administration to provide best medical facilities to the injured and sought a report from the administration.
