Hot, dry weather expected in city during next 24 hours

LAHORE: Hot and dry weather is expected in Punjab, including the provincial capital; however, rain-thundershowers with gusty winds were expected at few places in Kashmir and its adjoining areas during the next 24 hours.
Maximum and minimun temperatures on Monday were recorded as 46 degrees and 31 degrees celcius, respectively. According to the Met office, dust-thunderstorm/rain was expected at isolated places in Malakand, Hazara, Mardan, Peshawar, Kohat, Rawalpindi divisions, Islamabad, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir during evening/night, whereas mainly hot and dry weather is expected in plain areas of Punjab.
The synoptic situation indicates that continental air is prevailing over most parts of the country. A shallow westerly wave is likely to affect upper parts of he country from Monday evening/night to Wednesday morning.—APP
