ABBOTTABAD: Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) Thursday changed the mode payment to the beneficiaries from ATM card to Biometric Verification System (BVS) and released quarterly installment for 125595 registered women in the Hazara region.
BISP has changed the mode of payment from ATM card to BVS to avoid fraud or misuse of the cards as most of the women are illiterate and never used the ATM card. Through BVS only the beneficiary would receive the amount by their self.
This model has increased the transparency with minimum involvement of human factor as the transactions will be relying on systems, instead of human participation.
BISP regional office Abbottabad also informed the beneficiaries that the Summer installment has been released 5000 rupees each which can be collected from the four designated BVS points in district including Lea Mobile, Babar Road Supply, Kings Communication, Zarbat Plaza, shop number 1 Abbottabad, BISP Tehsil office, Sajikot Road, near boys degree college Havelian and BISP Divisional Office, PMA road, Shahzaman Colony Abbottabad.
The beneficiaries of district Abbottabad, Manshera, Torghar and Battagram can get the amount through the BVS while the beneficiaries of Haripur can avail the facility through ATM.
BISP has directed all beneficiary women to get the exact amount of 5000 and also obtained a receipt of the transaction, in case of any difficulty they can contact BISP Toll-Free helpline 0800-26477.
