PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Finance Taimur Saleem Khan Jhagra Wednesday said that provincial government was taking measures for the sustainable development of the southern districts to bring them at par with the other developed districts of the province. He said the provincial government has released Rs 900 million to oil and gas producing districts of Kohat,Karak and Hangu for improving gas infrastructure and supply of gas to thousands of households, as these districts are contributing to boost the provincial economy at large.
He further said that under the scheme more than 70,000 households of the three districts would be provided with the gas facility and the existing infrastructure would also be improved. Besides, provision of gas facility, he said the government would fulfill all its promises to improve the life standard of the people and will take measures for lasting development of the oil and gas producing southern districts, he concluded. It is worth to mention that Finance Department has released fund of Rs.900 million to SNGPL for timely provision of gas supply.
Commissioner Hazara satisfied over
pace of work on project
Commissioner, Hazara Division, Syed Zaheer-ul-Islam has expressed satisfaction over the pace of work on the under-construction Havailian-Dhamthor Bypass Road and directed SNGPL, WAPDA, Public Health Engineering (PHE) and revenue department to remove their installation creation hurdles in the project.
He was presiding over a high-level meeting regarding removing hurdles in the Havilian-Dhamthor Bypass Road. Those who attended were included head of the District Reconciliatory Committee General (Retd) Ayaz Rana, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Aamir Afaq, the officials of the FWO, PESCO, SNGPL, C&W, PHE, Revene, NESPAK and other departments concerned.
The commissioner also directed emergency based steps for land acquisition to complete the construction of bypass road till December this year and open it for traffic. The Divisional Commissioner also paid tributes to the performance of the construction company Frontier Works Organization (FWO) and district revenue department regarding the pace of work on the project and the spirit of the affected owners that have vacated their private construction before the start of work.
Food Department officers asked to
keep check on edibles
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Food Haji Qalandar Khan Lodhi Wednesday directed the district food officers of Mansehra to check bazaars during the month of Ramadan on daily basis and show no leniency with anyone selling substandard and expired edibles.
He issued these directives while talking to officers of Food Department, Mansehra. Besides, District Food Controller, Shad Mohammad, all officers of the district food department were also present on the occasion.
The provincial minister also inspected nearly 200 bags the confiscated substandard pulse flour (basin), ghee, drinks and other edibles.
The minister directed the officers of food department to perform their duty as worship during Ramadan to provide quality and edibles at officially fixed rates to the people and take action against those who are profiteering and selling substandard edibles to the people.
