Police Darbar of Anti Riot Force held

LAHORE:  Police Darbar of Anti Riot Force was held yesterday at District
Police Lines Qilla Gujja Singh under chair of Deputy Inspector General
of Police (Operations Wing) Lahore Ashfaq Khan. SSP Operations Lahore
Ismail  ur Rehman Kharak, SP Anti Riot/Headquarters Syed Karrar
Hussain, SP Security Lahore Faisal Shehzad alongwith other senior
Police officers and Janwans of Anti Riot Force participated in the
Darbar. DIG Operations Lahore Ashfaq Khan visited  Resource Management
Centre (RMC) of Police Lines and inspected the  latest equipment and
special protection uniform used by Anti Riot Force during protests and
law and order situations. He also inspected the water canon being used
by ARF to disperse the agitators. SP Anti Riot Syed Karrar Hussain
briefed DIG Operations Lahore regarding the overall performance of
Anti Riot Force and informed him regarding the latest equipment being
used by Anti Riot Force to maintain law and order and control any
untoward situation in the city.

DIG Operations Lahore Ashfaq Khan while addressing the Jawans of ARF
said that according to the needs of the Policing of present era ARF,
Dolphin Squad and Police Response Units are the need of the hour. He
said that Anti Riot Force is trained by Turkish experts having
excellent professional skills and equipped with latest gadgetry.
Ashfaq Khan said that the performance of Anti Riot Force has been
exemplary in emergency situations, protests and Sit-ins to maintain
law and order in the city. He said that concrete measures are being
taken to enhance capacity building of the Jawans of ARF and increase
resources including fundings for their improvement. Ashfaq Khan
further said that First Aid training is also being provided to the
Jawans of Anti Riot Force to help their colleagues and citizens in any
emergency situation. He acknowledged the sacrifices of 06 martys of
ARF who laid their lives in the line of duty at Arfa Kareem Tower.

SP Anti Riot Syed Karrar Hussain informed that Anti Riot Force was
established in December 2016 and had controlled more than 1989
protests, sit-ins, processions and other such situations. The Jawans
of ARF dispersed more than 15 lakh people causing to disturb law and
order situation and arrested 410 persons violating the law. Syed
Karrar Hussain thanked DIG Operations Lahore Ashfaq Khan for his
arrival his District Police Lines Qilla Gujjar Singh and encouraging
the Jawans of ARF. DIG Operations Lahore Ashfaq Khan also broke his
fast with the Jawans of Anti Riot Force.
