FAISALABAD, March 29::Punjab Minister for Information Syed Sumsam Ali Shah Bukhari Friday said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government was striving to provide health and education facilities to the people on priority basis.
Addressing Annual District Conference of Rotary Club here at a local hotel, he said that provision of health and education facilities was a challenge and the government was making all out efforts to provide these facilities to the poor and neglected segments of the society.
He appreciated the efforts of Rotary Club particularly for the eradication of polio and urged them to work against hepatitis also as “It is affecting a large number of our population.”
He mentioned his hometown Okara where every fourth person was affected by this disease.
He thanked all the participants and said that they had gathered here for a noble cause.
He said that Pakistanis were peace loving people. He said, “We have a very rich culture which promotes love and tolerance and we are proud of it.”
Referring to terrorism incident in New Zealand, he particularly appreciated the Prime Minister of New Zealand and said that she proved that terrorism had no religion and “We should fight against this mindset irrespective of religion, race or country.”
Later, talking to media persons, the minister said, “Our courts are working independently and we have full confidence in our judiciary.”
To a question, he said that Prime Minister Imran Khan had full trust in Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar who was serving the people of the province.
Earlier, in his address of welcome Pervaiz Akhatar of Rotary Club briefed the participants about the welfare activities of the club.
Punjab Minister for Social Welfare Ajmal Cheema was also present on the occasion.
