ISLAMABAD, Mar 27 :Deputy Speaker of National Assembly Qasim Khan Suri on Wednesday said the incumbent government of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf was strictly pursuing merit policy in all the national institutions.
Talking to PTV, he said due to nepotism and wrong policies of the previous governments, the institutions were destroyed.
He said the government would fulfill all the promises made with masses before the general elections.
The deputy speaker said ‘Ehsaas Programme’ for poverty alleviation was another step to make the country a welfare state, adding the government wanted to develop all the backward areas of the country.
He said in past Balochistan was a neglected province, but now due the special attention given by the government huge foreign investments were pouring in. Saudi Arabia would establish a oil refinery in Gwadar, he added.
Gwadar would be made economic hub not only of Pakistan but of the entire region, he said.
Replying to a question, Suri said water had great importance and there was a dire need to construct water reservoirs in the country.
To another question, he said as custodian of the House, he always try to maintain balance between the government and opposition members, adding the politicians and parliamentarians should avoid using derogatory language against each other.
