Islamabad: Teams from different schools and colleges all across Pakistan participated in the 7th National Science Bee held between 16th and 18th November, 2018. This 3-day event kicked off at NUST, H-12, Islamabad.
The event was organized by NUST Science Society (NSS), one of the biggest student societies among some vibrant societies at NUST. Not only science and recondite modules puzzled the student but there was also a fine collusion of entertainment with science.
Team Augmentin from Agha Khan University won 1st prize of 30,000 along with an esteemed reputation earned for school while Team QED from Froebels International School stood runners-up. Different engaging games were arranged and some modules concocted to challenge the young minds mentally and aesthetically in relation with their STEM propensities.
NSS donated a significant share of its profits to Chief Justice’s Diamir-Bhasha Dam Fund, about Rs. 150,000 were given in it. All in all, the event was a successful attempt at engaging students from all across Pakistan at a place with science and fun as their enticements. The schoolers were thrilled to see the engineering schools, state-of-the-art labs, progressive environment and facilities on-campus.
“It was really an eye-opener for me to see the state of affairs at NUST; I got to see different departments along with their labs. I really didn’t know we could have this much scope of higher education in Pakistan. I would love to pursue my education at NUST.”, said a student from Army Burn Hall College, Abbottabad.
