DG ISPR meets foreign journalists, urges to highlight improving peace


RAWALPINDI: Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Asif Ghafoor on Tuesday met with a group of Pakistan-based foreign media journalists and said he expects them to highlight improving peace & stability in the country.

“He expected them to highlight improving peace & stability in Pakistan, which offers economic opportunities for foreign investors,” a statement by the ISPR said.

Maj Gen Ghafoor also said that international community sees Pakistan through their reporters based in Pakistan. Media has a very important role to project the true positivity of the country, he added.

The journalists were also briefed about the security situation and ongoing stability operations by the DG ISPR. Matters related to Pak-Afghan border and situation along Line of Control were also discussed.

Maj Gen Ghafoor said that the security situation of Pakistan has largely improved through successful clearance operations and that “we are heading towards stability”. He added that having restored peace, Pakistan also wishes to see peace beyond borders, especially in Afghanistan.
