LAHORE: An employee of the Federal Board of Revenue was found dead at the Lahore Tax House under mysterious circumstances on Thursday morning.
The victim identified as Ghulam Haider Doga was stenographer in the Large Taxpayers Unit (LTU) Tax House.
Sources in the FBR said earlier he was working in the Corporate Regional Tax office (CRTO) and was recently transferred to LTU. As per the CCTV footage, it was found that Dogar apparently committed suicide while jumping from the fifth floor of the Tax House, SHO Tahir Mehmood said.
He told Daily The Business that his family during interrogation disclosed that Dogar was on medicine for the last 20 years and was being treated at the Institute of Mental.
The police has registered a report under section 174 of CPC. However, according to the police report the family of the deceased said that Dogar had been on treatment. On Thursday he went to office and later it came to their knowledge that he died after falling from the stairs at Tax House. As per the report the family of the deceased said that they had no enmity with anyone and wanted no autopsy. The family also refused any further action, the report said.
