ISLAMABAD, (TLTP): Granting interim stay order in favor of Pakistan Services Limited on Wednesday Competition Commission of Pakistan (CCP) barred two companies from using trademark of Pearl Continental (PC) Hotel till final adjudication of the matter.

Pakistan Services Limited (PSL) had filed a complaint before the CCP for remedy against Omni Comm. (Pvt.) Limited, and Lucky Gold (Pvt.) Limited, claiming that both the companies were using the PC hotel brand and logo without consent and authorization in Abbottabad and Faisalabad respectively.

CCP disclosed in a statement here saying the PSL has contended in its complaint that Omni Comm. and Lucky Gold were running their hotels under the brand name of “PC Hotel” without any authorization. PSL further argued that such practice not only harming its business interests but also deceiving consumers.

After hearing both the parties in the matter, CCP’s bench restrained both the companies from using the PSL brand name and sought compliance report from Omni Comm. (Pvt.) Limited and Lucky Gold (Pvt.) Limited within seven days.
