PMEX index closes at 3,583 points

KARACHI: Pakistan Mercantile Exchange Limited (PMEX)’s commodity index on Thursday closed at 3,583 points; with traded value of metals, energy and COTS/FX recorded at Rs 13.009 billion.
The number of lots traded was 32,849, said a press release on Friday.

The major business was contributed by WTI crude oil amounting to Rs 5.266 billion, followed by NSDQ100 Rs 2.438 billion, currencies through COTS Rs 1.764billion, gold Rs 1.025 billion, platinum Rs 831.454 million, DJ Rs 758.757 million, brent crude oil Rs 575.543 million, silver Rs 123.276 million, copper Rs 117.046 million, natural gas Rs 60.007 million and SP500 Rs 47.422 million.
In agriculture commodities, 26 lots of cotton valued at Rs 13.703 and red chilli 16,565 lots amounting to Rs 4.803 million were traded.
