Nawaz Raiwind residence declared sub-jail, parole extended to 4 days

LAHORE: The government declared the Sharif family residence at Jati Umra as a sub-jail on Wednesday after the parole granted to former premier Nawaz Sharif, daughter Maryam Nawaz and son-in-law Capt (retired) Safdar was extended by four days after the demise of Kulsoom Nawaz in London.
Overwhelmed by the situation, Nawaz excused himself from meeting the guests arriving at Jati Umra for condolences. Feeling unwell, the former premier is resting in a room with close aides.
Four-day extension in parole of Nawaz, Maryam and Safdar
Punjab Home Ministry has decided to extend parole of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, his daughter Maryam Nawaz and son-in-law captain (retd) Safdar by three days.
According to media reports, former premier Nawaz, daughter Maryam Nawaz and his son-in-law Captain Safdar were released on parole to attend funeral prayers of Begum Kalsoom Nawaz respectively, who died in London on Tuesday.
Initially all were released on parole for 12 hours including time to reach Jati Umra from Jail however in the latest statement issued by Punjab Home Department their release on parole has been extended for four days.
On the other hand, summary regarding extension in parole of former premier, daughter and son-in-law has been sent to Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar for approval.
Interior ministry spokesperson said that parole would be extended further in case of delay in bringing body of Kulsoom Nawaz in Pakistan.
Shehbaz leaves for London to bring back Kalsoom’s body
LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) president Shehbaz Sharif left for London on Wednesday to attend the funeral of Begum Kalsoom Nawaz scheduled to be held tomorrow in Regent Plaza Park. Shehbaz is travelling to London via Doha on a foreign flight. He accompanied with other members of the family will return to the country on Friday at 6am along with Kalsoom’s body. The body of former first lady will be flown from Heathrow airport on Thursday at 10pm PST via PIA flight PK-758. Nawaz Sharif sons Hassan and Hussain Nawaz won’t be in Lahore to attend the funeral prayers owing to legal complications.

A second funeral prayer will be offered after Friday prayer following which Kalsoom will be buried alongside her father-in-law, Mian Sharif, at Jati Umra.
On the other hand, former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, his daughter Maryam Nawaz and son-in-law Captain (retd) Safdar have been released on parole from Adiala Jail and shifted to Jati Umra.
Kalsoom’s funeral prayers on Friday evening
The funeral prayers of Begum Kulsoom Nawaz will be offered at Sharif Medical City Friday evening, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb said Thursday.
The funeral prayers will be offered at 5pm on Friday and Rasm-e-Qul would take place at Jati Umra from Asr till Maghrib on Sunday, the spokesperson announced in a twitter message. Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif will meet with sympathisers Thursday, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb said on Wednesday.
The PML-N supremo will meet with leaders, workers and sympathisers from 4pm to 6pm Thursday at his Jati Umra residence on Raiwind Road in Lahore. Party leaders, workers and sympathisers were arriving at Jati Umra on Wednesday to condole with the Sharif family on the demise of Kulsoom Nawaz, who passed away at a hospital in London.
