Police to be made public service institution, says Buzdar

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar presided over a high-level meeting at his office on Tuesday in which proposals regarding the establishment of police reforms commission were reviewed in detail.
The meeting was briefed about the establishment of police reforms commission in the province.
Addressing the meeting, the CM said that reforms are being introduced in the police and added that no one could interfere in the police duty under these reforms.
Police will be made totally neutral and a public service institution which would come up to the expectations of the general public. He said that police is responsible to redress the grievances of the people and serving the complainants is the fundamental responsibility of the police.
He directed that matters pertaining to establishment of police reforms commission should be settled and recommendations should be given final shape at the earliest. Punjab chief secretary, ACS (Home) and others attended the meeting.

NPT and TPWT delegation call on CM

A delegation of Nazaria Pakistan Trust (NPT) and Tehrik-e-Pakistan Workers Trust (TPWT) called on Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar at his office on Tuesday.
Talking on the occasion, the chief minister said that services of Nazaria Pakistan Trust and Tehrik-e-Pakistan Workers Trust are praiseworthy and work has been performed actively to sensitize the new generation about the great struggle of muslims for a separate homeland.
He said that Pakistan was created under the dynamic leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah after a great struggle and the hard work of the Quaid-e-Azam carries message for us.
He said that policies and vision of prime minister Imran Khan is being moved forward and government is working hard to provide better facilities to the people. Important reforms will be introduced in health, education, tourism and other sectors to provide better services to the people.
We are fully committed with the people and moving towards the right direction, he added. The chief minister said that he belongs to the people and therefore, is well aware of their problems.
The delegation of Nazaria Pakistan Trust and Tehrik-e-Pakistan Workers Trust congratulated Sardar Usman Buzdar on becoming the chief minister.
Secretary NPT Shahid Rasheed said that elders of chief minister Usman Buzdar took active part in the Pakistan movement and they were also given award in recognition of their services.
We are happy that a person belonging to the middle class family has become the chief minister and our good wishes are with you. The delegation was headed by Justice (retired) Mian Mehboob Ahmed. Provincial advisor Akram Chaudhry was also present on the occasion.
