Zardari, Faryal summoned in money laundering case

ISLAMABAD: The FIA has summoned former president Asif Zardari and his sister Faryal Talpur today (Saturday) to record their statements in JIT in connection with money laundering case.
The FIA has issued notice to Asif Ali Zardari and Faryal Talpur to appear before JIT to record their statements. As per notice both have been summoned in FIA headquarters Islamabad on August 04.
It may be mentioned that FIA is investigating against 32 persons for their alleged involvement in laundering money from benami accounts. Asif Ali Zardari and Faryal Talpur are among these 32 persons. Hussain Lawai, president of a private bank was also arrested in this connection some days back.
On July 30 Faryal Talpur had challenged in the court the interim challan issued by FIA in money laundering case.
Faryal Talpur said in the petition that no mention has been made about any money laundering in FIR. My role is not clear in challan and I have nothing to do with the charges.
NA-131 recount: LHC summons Babar today
The LHC has adjourned the hearing of case regarding re-counting in NA-131 till 11am today (Saturday) besides summoning Babar Awan counsel for Imran Khan.
As per media reports, LHC has stopped from issuing the notification regarding success of Imran Khan from NA-131 till 12pm night on Saturday.
Azam Nazir Tarar, counsel for Saad Rafique told to court, “PTI’s Imran Khan has indicated to leave this seat; if this happens then his request will stand infructuous .”

Counsel for Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) told to court that Saad Rafique has submitted the application for re-counting to ECP.
Earlier, Babar Awan, counsel for Imran Khan couldn’t appear in the court being pre-occupied in the Supreme Court.
The extension of a day was requested by him to appear in the court. On which the court adjourned the hearing of case till today (Saturday). —Online
