Martyrs are pride of Punjab police: IGP


Lahore: Inspector general of Punjab Police has said that the martyrs are the pride of Punjab police and that their sacrifices are the bright examples for the whole police force. He said that the officers and officials of Punjab Police has proved it throughout the world with their sacrifices that public service is more important for them than their lives and that they will not hesitate to take such steps in future as well. He further said that the sacrifices of brave martyrs remind all officers and officials reminds that police force is not just a profession but it is a sacred mission which they will continue with honesty and bravery till their last breath. He said that more the sacrifices of more than 1400 martyrs will not go in vain. He expressed these views while talking to media after paying tribute to the martyrs of police by lighting candles and leaving flowers on Yadgar-e-Shaudha on Mall road, Lahore.

On this occasion DIG Operations, Lahore Shehzad Akbar, DIG Investigation, Lahore Syed Khurram Ali Shah, SSP, Lahore Operations Asad Sarfaraz and other officers were present. The families of the martyrs alongside civil society and people belonging from different professions were also there. IG Punjab also recited Surah-e-Fatiah for the high ranks of the departed souls. While talking to media, IG Punjab said that Punjab Police will pay tribute to the great sacrifices offered by martyrs on 4th August by observing Youm-e-Shuhada all over the province. Special ceremonies will take place in all the districts and senior police officers will go to the homes of the martyrs for Fatiah prayer. He further said that he considers the families of the martyrs as his own and that it is his prime responsibility to solve their problems. He further said that we have introduced a system to address the problems of the families of martyrs but still they are free to meet IG Punjab in person for the solution to their problems.
