Belgium business delegates, TDAP discuss opportunities

LAHORE: A business delegate from Belgium paid a visit to Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) here on Wednesday to discuss business opportunities with Pakistan.
Mr. Dieder Van Reil expressed that Pakistan is a safe country for trade and economic activity. Riaz Ahmad, Director General, told that TDAP has been endeavoring to provide assistance to the business forums to help enhance the pace of trade development of the Country.
He mentioned that EU is Pakistan’s largest export market representing 34percent of exports. Belgium accounted for 9percent of total EU imports from Pakistan. Pakistan‘s, major exports to Belgium are cotton fabrics, synthetic textiles, readymade garments, hosiery, bed linen, fish & fish preparations, sports goods and leather clothing.
DG further said that under Emerging Pakistan initiative as envisaged by Mr. Younus Dagha, Secretary Commerce is a way forward in focusing and projecting the products of the country abroad which will subsequently help in enhancing the trade volume of the country.
DG, TDAP, Lahore also informed the delegate that in future also, TDAP would be ready to extend any help required to him related to information of export-oriented companies from Pakistan.
The delegate was provided with the requisite lists of bed linen and Pillow covers manufacturers & exporters of Pakistan.
The delegate was grateful to TDAP for support, hospitality, and sharing of data of export-oriented companies as he required. The meeting ended with the vote of thanks.
