London police arrest Maryam’s son Junaid Safdar
LONDON: London Metropolitan Police on Thursday arrested Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader Maryam Nawaz’s son, Junaid Safdar, for physically assaulting a man outside Avienfield apartments.
Junaid Safdar claimed protesters outside Avenfield House spat at and tried to attack him.
Earlier, PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz reached London’s Heathrow airport late Thursday to return to Pakistan.
Nawaz and Maryam arrived in London prior to Eid-ul-Fitr and are expected to land in Lahore around 6pm on Friday, a week after the accountability court sentenced the father and daughter to 11 and eight years in prison, respectively, in the Avenfield properties case.
The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has arranged two helicopters for shifting the father-daughter duo to Adiala prison following their arrival in Lahore.
