Police to provide foolproof security for election
LAHORE: The Punjab police have put in placed comprehensive security measures to maintain law and order and ensure peaceful environment during election 2018 in Punjab.
More than 250,000 policemen would be deployed for the election duty, whereas the security would also be provided to public gatherings, rallies, candidates and important political personalities due to threats.
According to details, foolproof security would be provided to 6,335 polling stations of A-category, 16,944 B-category and 24,201 C-category polling stations.
The police are continuing its crackdown on violators of the Election Commission of Pakistan‘s code of conduct in the province. About 110 cases have been registered so far against workers of various political parties on violation of the code of conduct in all districts of Punjab.
Section 144 has been imposed across Punjab for implementation of the ECP code of conduct. The Cabinet Committee for Law and Order regularly reviews security situation in the province.
The police officers have been directed to increase their coordination with field teams so that all the criminals and anti-social elements can be flushed out. The policemen have also been directed to conduct search and sweep operations in city on daily basis.
