Directive to play effective role for better healthcare of patients
LAHORE: Secretary Specialized Healthcare & Medical Education (SH&ME) Punjab Saqib Zafar has asked the paramedical staff of the hospitals to play their effective role with dedication for the better healthcare of the patients, keeping the cleanliness condition and making a patient-friendly atmosphere in the hospitals.
He said this while talking to a joint delegation of paramedics of different teaching hospitals of Lahore, who called on the Secretary Health headed by Muhammad Arshid Butt, District President.
The delegation informed the Secretary about their reservations regarding outsourcing of non-clinical services, issues of daily wages employees, matters related to their service structure and release of special allowance after up-gradation of the employees.
Special Secretary Health Usman Mouzam was also present on this occasion. Secretary Health Saqib Zafar paid a patient hearing to the issues of the paramedics and ensured them for a sympathetic consideration of the issues. He said that steps should be taken to resolve the issue according to the rules and regulations.
Mammography machine at Lady Aitchison Hospital fully functional
A spokesman of Lady Aitchison Hospital has contradicted the news item appeared in section of the news in which it was alleged that the mammography machine at Lady Aitchison Hospital is out of order.
The spokesman said that mammography machine at Lady Aitchison Hospital was installed in 2017 at the breast screening centre at a cost of Rs 67.487 million.
He said that a fault occurred in May 2018 and was rectified by the supplier within a week as it was under warrantee period hence the news item is two months old.
He further said that presently at Lady Aitchison Hospital all diagnostic facilities are being provided at the screening centre including normal ultrasound, Doppler ultrasound, transvaginal ultrasound, breast ultrasound, cranial ultrasound, thyroid ultrasound, and chest ultrasound, chest X-Ray, KUB X-Ray, Erect Abdomen X-Ray, IVU, HSG and Mammogram. The spokesman reiterated that mammography machine is fully functional and at an average 20 mammogram per month are being carried out.
